Brian turned 31 this past week and the kids were thrilled that there was another birthday to celebrate. I told the kids that we would go to the store so they could each purchase their Dad a birthday present. Minutes after I told Remy our plan, she ran up to me and told me that she knew what she wanted to buy her Dad. She told me that her daddy loved to play tea-party with her so she wanted to buy him a new tea-party set. She could hardly wait to get to the store to find her present.
We headed to the dollar store and minutes after we arrived she grabbed a bright pink tea-party set from the shelf and there was no swaying her decision. She also picked out a pink Dora card to go along with the gift and chose a princess bag to wrap it in. I can't begin to explain just how excited she was as she hand-selected each item for her Dad all on her own. It was priceless.
Cade was torn between two hockey sticks (complete with plastic pucks) and two nerf-guns. In the end, the hockey sticks won. He picked out the biggest bag he could find and selected a 'dump-truck' themed birthday card as well. Cade could hardly wait for Brian to get home so he could 'share' his present with him.
When Brian walked through the door the kids practically threw their gifts at him. They were both so proud of themselves and so excited for Brian to see what they had bought him. It was so fun to watch their faces as Brian unwrapped their presents and it was even more fun to watch Brian play with the kids (he hardly see's them these days).
Oh and Reese decided to give herself as the gift. Do you blame her? She is one good looking present!
Overall, it was a fun birthday!
