Today we had Cade's birthday party. Gma, Gpa, Aunt Kensie & Alyssa joined us at our house for lunch, presents and cake. Then we headed off to the bowling alley for a quick game of bowling...
I wanted to buy some designer cake for Cade's b-day but after some thought I decided I could probably pull something off myself. It was really simple to make and Cade loved it. Plus, it tasted really yummy!
Gma & Gpa bought Cade this chair from Ikea. He loves it. Cade & Remy take turns sitting in the chair and spinning each other around. It is a big hit!
Gma & Gpa Howarth sent this little boom-box home with us during our last visit. Cade was singing in the microphone in no time!
Cade was so thoughtful in opening his presents. He didn't tear into them like I had expected him to. Instead he slowly pulled back the wrapping paper - it was really cute.
A power-drill (just like Daddy's). So far he hasn't operated the 'power-drill' without his safety goggles on!
Singing Happy Birthday to Cade. He was all smiles!
Waiting for the cue to blow out his candles!
Of course, Remy had to get in on the action. She loves Cades safety goggles. She is such a little ham.
Cade at the bowling alley. He was very excited to roll the ball and knock over the pins.
Remy also wanted a turn. She kept picking up the bowling balls and throwing them. She is trouble.
Remy & Gpa at the bowling alley. Remy talks about 'papa' all the time. She is always asking us where 'papa' is.
Remy showing off her bowling skills.
Cade getting ready for his turn.
Mommy & Remy watching the boys bowl.Remy bowling a few balls.
Cade bowling. He would get so excited when he knocked over pins - it was so funny. I think he may be a little competitive when he is older!
Overall, the party was a big hit. Cade had lots of fun and it was nice to spend the day surrounded by family (maybe next year we will even invite a few little friends). Now the house is in shambles - new toys, streamers and balloons are all over the floor (but, I guess that is just the sign of a wonderful day/party).
