Once upon a time, my dear husband arrived home from work at 6pm. It gave him plenty of time to eat with the family, help with the dishes, play with the kids and help tuck them in for the night. That was once upon a time.

Now my dear husband arrives home at 7-7:15pm. It gives him plenty of time to shove some food down and help tuck the kids into bed. He is no longer able to (help with the dishes) or play with the kids before bed. Quite frankly it sucks.
It is amazing how much longer the days feel when you are left to 'struggle' on your own for an extra hour each day. Left to cook dinner, feed the kids dinner, clean dinner, get the kids bathed and ready for bed, alone. For the record - it is exhausting.
However exhausting it is - I am trying to keep a good attitude. After all, Brian does have a great job and we are grateful for that. We just wish he was home more often!
(Why does cyber-venting feel so great?)

I feel your pain. Sometimes nate doesn't get home until 8pm... on those days I want to die.
